SYSU-CMU Joint Institute of Engineering (JIE) was established by Sun Yat-sen University and Carnegie Mellon as a collaboration to nurture a passionate and collaborative global community and network of students, faculty and professionals working toward advancing the field of engineering through education and research in China and the world.
The JIE will be located on the East Campus of SYSU, next to the Guangzhou Supercomputing Center, which is both currently under construction and to be completed by December of 2013. Initially, only degrees in electrical and computer engineering are offered. Gradually, other engineering and technology disciples will be included.
